It’s hard to find something coherent to say when it comes to this book. Not only did I get to read this book, but I also got to meet Adam Foulds himself and ask him questions.
I was star-struck and inspired throughout. I drank in every word he had to say, because I enjoyed the quiet way in which he says things. I could also relate to his way of writing, and his way of looking at the world.
The Broken Word is a historical story set in verse about the Mau Mau Uprisings in Kenya. Minimalism (an idea I’ve been explored) is the predominant style of description.
Great book, great experience.
